About the work

What should people know about your work?

In my artistic practice I primarily employ the mediums of photography, video and performance. My most recent work deals with the current situation regarding radically distributed images on the internet. With guaranteed access to devices, we find ourselves in a situation of incessant production, where consumption is always at the same time production just as viewers are at the same time producers. Whereas in my previous work I tried to extract symptomatic social expressions from the corpus of viral videos by reconstructing selected YouTube videos, here my method is the analysis of user-produced content and its subsequent recontextualization. In this way I primarily follow the interweaving of life and art, the dissolution of authorship and the representation of corporeality in virtual space.

How do you see yourself and your work five years from now?

Following the series of re-enactment performances based on YouTube videos, which I have spent the last three years on, I will now think about whether it is meaningful to continue with art and will begin to contemplate leaving the art world.
