About the work

What should people know about your work?

In my artistic practice I concern myself primarily with the everyday, developing themes and subjects that follow from this focus (interpersonal relations, school environments, and the like). The common denominator of the locations, situations and objects which I worked with in my diploma project is a dominance of long time periods and their anchoring in the unremarkable days of several stages of my life. In the paintings, various epochs of my life, as well as highly specific recollections, interweave and overlap, creating situations without temporal boundaries that in some form took place in the past, but could be repeated again. Their meaning is thus ambiguous, emerging during the process of painting, changing and stratifying.

How do you see yourself and your work five years from now?

For me it’s important that my work develops in the direction of its own essence and that sketched out possibilities acquire a firmer and clearer form. At the same time, however, it is of key importance for me to be constantly searching, that’s why I envisage that five years from now my work will be in many respects more definite, but also full of new questions. I imagine myself in the future in a similar way.
