About the work
Two years ago, Beatrice Dandová radically turned away from the field of drawing, which she studied and exclusively pursued, toward textual expression. Her diploma, too, is conceptual. It reflects a very specific intimate sphere – finding a partner via online portals. The real effort to mate gradually developed into a special pastime: she stopped dating to make a friend but, instead, to gain an interesting experience. She also soon realized that the dates revolve around certain predictable behavioral patterns, and started to manipulate the process. However, these researches became the subject of her diploma only when she found her journals from her adolescence. They are very intimate as well and mostly reflect the problems usually solved by girls in that age. The artist connects these two parts in an installation freely replicating her room, filled with her personals.
