About the work

From the Memory

What is your graduation work about?

My graduation work is a complex of experiences, dreams, and ideas that keep coming back to me and demand my attention. I would love to juxtapose a concrete moment and abstract projections. A childhood memory becomes so distant that we do not know to what extent it is an occurrence and to what it is an idea of it.

Another subject is the passage of time and contemplating the value of a lived moment.

In addition to my large-dimensional works, I would like to add a series of open-air paintings and thus create a contrast between the moment of recording an experience and the period when memories get reduced over time until they unite into abstract scenes that can become paintings.

What do you do besides your graduation work?

Like everyone else, I guess. I am trying to survive in health and lead a fulfilling life. Good company, music, sports, and being near any water surface cannot be missing.

In what conditions would you like to work on your graduation work?

I enjoy great conditions this year. The studio in Zajícovka is a gem.

What would you imagine to be an alternative culmination of your studies at AVU, in place of the defense of your graduation work?

Trying to explain what a painting is about in words is, by all means, the healthiest way. Even though some texts may seem affected, I do not tend to another solution.
