About the work

Michal Blecha holds a specific position at the local scene, being a cinematographer of many videos, films, and art projects from the field of contemporary art. His diploma is a musical-dance video, based on the relation between a cinematographer (the artist) and a performer. It focuses on the dancer, her movements in space, and music. The dynamic camera and the framing of the individ-ual takes serve to record the dancer to keep her energy continuously present in the picture. The most important thing for the artist is mutual empathy and mutual perception of each other. Blecha inwardly connects with the dancer, and the two try to translate their flow of thoughts and feelings as faithfully as possible, hence both becoming the authors of the choreography.
