About the work
What should people know about your work?
My final year was divided into two halves: an apartment building and a park.
The apartment building on Borodínská is entering a conflict. It has big city ambitions and the soul of a village.
I’m using the empty corner as an opportunity; the absence of a corner allows me to create a piazzetta with a plane tree. There will be two buildings. Large and small. They will face the piazzetta. I believe the genius loci can be preserved through a repetition of its motifs. I’m creating a chink. They are both sturdy, plump, plaster-covered. Blue and pink. Pastel-coloured. The don’t jump out of line.
Macharovo náměstí is not a square, but a park full of wind-blown, self-seeded vegetation encircled by roads. The heart of the garden district. I’m creating a suburban city-feel, a square and a garden behind a wall. Inspired by parks and suburbs in England. Wall, fence, path, steps, shrubs and trees take the lead.
How do you see yourself and your work five years from now?
In a position where I’m content and not shy?
