About the work
For her graduation work, Františka Černochová Hausdorfová focused on restoring a stone figure from the Klatovy / Klenová Gallery – specifically a 1764 sculpture of Charles Borromeo from a set of six works located in the gallery’s courtyard.
Another task was the restoration of the marble sculpture Bathing by Karel Lenhart (1904–1978, a student of professor B. Kafka). The creation of this marble sculpture has been dated to 1928.
Her written thesis is closely related to both of these projects: Techniques used for restoring sandstone and marble sculptures, including their specific characteristics and differences.. Černochová Hausdorfová is also interested in the techniques used for restoring sgraffito. She also produces her own works of sculpture in her free time.
