About the work

Blossoming and thicket – Wanderlust

The energy of human beings is a complicated thing that communicates in silence.

All individuals on Earth are somehow related. We all live on the same planet, and yet we have contact with very few people.

All of our relationships are based on social codes, friendships, and relationships. Within this context, we are more or less free.

In Dominic Hafner’s participatory zone, everyone who enters is invited to break free from their usual way of communicating.

By evoking the three elements of water, fire, and air, Hafner offers a possible way of collectively evoking the fourth element, our planet Earth, by activating and co-creating its sound. The Earth is what we make of it.

This unique understanding of Earth emanates from Hafner’s musical collaboration like a hologram of emotion. Its structure evokes places of meditation and spirituality that feel like something precious. Spirituality is a plural experience, and the artist’s installation reminds us of this. We all have to find our own way while feeling ourselves and others.

With this installation, Dominic Hafner fulfills a dream that he started working on with the collective Too Many Dinner Parties: to create a conceptual installation, a fictional nature, and a participatory space with sound and performance, a social space that offers us the chance to explore it.
