About the work
The site-specific installation by Tomáš Kurečka employs cultural and historical codes of varied nature. He based it on his consistent interest in Baroque religious literature that strived to rectify the world. It presents a room inhabited by a fictitious preacher and consists of two parts. The first is public, while the second is private and reveals the preacher’s wardrobe. The artist presents historical furniture along with several items of apparel, which Kurečka variously adapted, added something, or destroyed. A specific decoration of the dwelling is the probes on the walls, referring to the restoration practice.
