About the work

What should people know about your work?

Since our studio changed tutor, my diploma work is comprised of two projects (one project per semester).

The theme of the first project was a smaller-sized corner apartment building in Vršovice assigned with a detailed construction plan and given as a task to all students in the studio.

The second theme was selected by several of us as a group of diploma students. We had a short amount of time and a predetermined work structure and methodology but an important subject – sport in the city. The objective of each work was to confirm and modify/design sports grounds as an integral part of the typology and life of the city.

My task is to propose a design for the reconstruction of an existing sports ground on the intersection of Malá Štupartská and Masná, with the intention of making the city more attractive to the public and reconciling urban relationships.

How do you see yourself and your work five years from now?

Five years is a negligible period of time in architecture, on a personal level the following five years could be absolutely fundamental. After graduating from two tertiary level educational institutions, I feel the need for a change. I would like to continue developing my design practice – with both determination and joy. I enjoy the diversity offered by architecture. In view of the lengthy leadup times to final realization, the next few years could bring many surprises and new experiences – on construction sites, with clients, etc. Outside of work, however, I feel the need to look for a theme of my own that I could develop in the long term. After years of studying with great tutors and architects, I would consider it correct (from an entirely subjective viewpoint) to now be the one doing the formulating, clarifying my own standpoint and method, to take a break from studying for a while and perhaps go back to it in a few years’ time. In the future, I would like to keep fulfilling myself intellectually on several different levels.
