About the work
What should people know about your work?
My work focuses on seeking equilibrium and harmony in today’s disharmonious world. It is a search for the most ordered state in the curvature of spacetime, what I perceive as here and now. At the same time, I work with symbols that appear throughout art, placing them into present-day constellations. I deform and distort, initiating my own game between them and putting them into the context not only of the present, but also my own personal mythology.
How do you see yourself and your work five years from now?
I don’t like to talk about my plans in advance, before they have been realised. I feel as though it drains away some of their energy and hampers their development towards a successful outcome. I hope that projects that are now in their ‘infancy’ will continue to culminate over the next five years and begin to live their own fully-fledged lives and that I will still enjoy my work and it will continue to progress. As far as my personal life is concerned, I consider myself happy and content and don’t see any reason why that should change. If something were to change, however, sculpture has taught me that everything can be patched up and a backup plan can always be used.
